I like to build and I like to fix.
Here's a few things I've worked on.
Tinder for shared to-do lists. Starting as a two-person app but designed to scale to any group size. Anyone can propose a task, but it only makes the actual list once everyone swipes right on it. A left swipe doesn't delete anything, it just sends the task back for another look later, so nothing gets silently buried.
Android share-sheet app that cleans up text using Gemma E2B running locally on my Pixel 8a. No network connection required.
Safe Notes fork to fix crashing when pressing the Gboard Shift key. Made a few additional adjustments such as allowing biometric login each time rather than periodically requiring the password.
Organic Maps fork that shows the chosen destination and toll preferences while navigating. Also added a search feature to the settings UI.
I found an ESP32 smartwatch project board online recently and knew exactly what to do with it. As someone who loves both graphing calculators and calculator watches, this was an obvious build. Will I ever have a practical use for this? Maybe not. Is that the point? Absolutely not.
